“My wife and I had a home built by RCI Builders in Ashland Park and we absolutely love the house and the neighborhood! We looked at several of their model homes and eventually chose RCI as our builder because, while all of the houses were beautiful, we both kept commenting about how substantial the structures seemed. Each house we looked at felt strong and solid. Today we’ve lived in our new home for 3 months and it is everything we could have hoped for and more! RCI took good care of us during the build and after. Ashley (Designer) at the selection center was helpful and patient with us and took lots of time to make sure we got everything exactly the way we wanted. “The first contact we had with RCI Builders was Andy Szalay our Project Manager when we laid the box of the house out on the property in order to dig the footers. Once construction started, Andy provided us a call once a week to keep us up to date on the progress and what the next steps were. The design meeting with RCI went better than expected because the designer from the beginning stated she was not here to sell us anything but keep our cost down as much as possible while being able to put our touch on the house. During construction, RCI ran into a design problem with our house and Andy immediately called us in order to discuss our options. Additionally, we found a few items that needed to be addressed as construction moved forward and Andy was there with a solution. Then unfortunately I became very ill the week of walkthrough so my wife was the only one to attend but Andy came by on a Saturday morning after we had closed and moved in to explain items he would have reviewed during the walkthrough. The house is then turned over to the service department for a 45 day and 1 year inspection. This is when we met Troy Szalay who has been nothing but the best answering questions about the house. "THANK YOU! I just wanted to pass along my husband and I’s gratitude for such an incredible process and beautiful home. We started working with Cathy Mueller in January when my husband still wasn’t sold on the idea of building and wow is she amazing at her job. We had randomly stopped in the office without an appointment and o did she win us over! Cathy immediately became a friend of ours. I knew that she wasn’t just trying to sell a house, but she cared about me and my little family of three – my son Tripp is now 11 months old. Over the next few weeks Cathy answered all million of my questions providing honest answers without making us feel pressured or overwhelmed. Even though we had only met Cathy a handful of times I could tell she was the kind of person who doesn’t work for a company unless she believes in their product. This was such a comfort to us as we were finalizing our decisions and signing a veryyyy large contract.
Ashley Cohoon was our design consultant and we were equally impressed with her. Ashley helped the long process of selections stay organized and keep moving. She provided great feedback on our selections from a designer standpoint as neither my husband or I have done this before. At points where we were between two options she helped us decided which would fit with the other selections. And again, we never felt pressure to upgrade, spend more or judged about the items we did select. Ashley, like Cathy, was quick to respond to email and answer any follow up questions we had.
We really enjoyed the options available to us during the design session. I love what was chosen to display in the design center so much that our shower is exactly what was displayed. My quatrefoil shaped pendants and chandelier are my absolute favorite feature and love that these were available! I would have liked to have more paint options both for the door and the walls. I choose the light pink front door which I really like but prefer very bright vibrant door colors. Also, I choose the grey wall paint; however, in the house it looks more tan than grey which is a little disappointing. I felt like there were a lot of options that were tan / yellow / beige color schemes which I just don’t like and prefer the grey scales.
When it came time for the construction to begin, we first started working with a different project manager but were quickly transitioned over to Roger Shepherd. He has been incredible to work with! From the first time we met him, he gave me his phone number and was always available to communicate via text or call. Roger made sure at every occasion we understood what was going on and didn’t have any concerns. He is such a calm and friendly individual that always made us feel like we were his number one priority and wanted to provide us with the best possible house. I truly feel that Roger was building our house as if it were his own. We also appreciated the electrician which during the walkthrough provided great advice and suggestions on where to add outlets / lights. Again, not having done this before their guidance was greatly appreciated.
Booth and I have loved the last almost two months of living in our new forever home and just wanted to pass along our gratitude to all of those who were involved. RCI truly has some great employees on their team who work to deliver a great product. Thank you again!"
